Miss Global International 2019: In “Uniting the World through Beauty and Tourism“, the Miss Global International Pageant 2019 had their media launch hosted by Lachu Ramchandani OD JP and sponsors last Wednesday, March 13, at the Royalton White Sands in Trelawny to commence this year’s pageantry.
Miss Global International has partnered this year with the Jamaican Association for the Deaf directed by former queen Kimberly Marriot-Blake as their Charity for 2019.
Since the inception of the pageant in 2004, Chairman Lachu Ramchandani took a break last year to organize this year’s magnificent staging at the Montego Bay Convention Centre in Rose Hall, St James, on September 28.
Ladies from all over the globe within the ages of 17-27 are given the opportunity to represent their country and showcase the talent and charitable works. Mr. Ramchandani noted that over seventy-five countries have participated in the pageant since it started. He further added that this year he is expecting approximately forty countries to participate in the pageant.
The coronation show for the Miss Global Jamaica contestants will be hosted at Courtleigh auditorium in Kingston on June 29.
This year’s contestants will vie for “Miss Global International” title, over $3 million in cash and prizes, as well as, an opportunity to take part in the “Miss Continent Exhibition”, scheduled for Ecuador in September.
Present at last week Wednesday’s Media Launch, were the Mayor of Falmouth, Mr. Collin Gager, Mayor of Montego Bay, Councillor Homer Davis, Custos Bishop Conrad Pitkin of St. James, Custos of Trelawny Mr. Harold Paul Arnold Muschett, Chairman TEF Mr. Godfrey Dyer, Regional Director at the Jamaica Tourist Board Odette Dyer, Mr. Keith Slack CEO of City Sports, Chairman for Montego Bay South and Communication Director of Media Sol, Suzette Brown, Lloyd B. Smith CEO at The Western Mirror, Jovanni Davis and other media personals and patrons.
During the launch, Regional Director at the Jamaica Tourist Board Odette Dyer and Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett both endorsed the Miss Global pageant and the positive contribution it has on Jamaica’s Tourism Sector by showcasing Brand Jamaica worldwide.
Performances for the night came from former contestant Robyn Lee, Jodi-Ann Pantry and Royalton Performing Arts Group. The MC for the evening was Mr. Manoj Ramchandani and Director of the Pageant, Ms. Neelam Ramchandani states that this year will be bigger and greater with the show being streamed live and aired on national TV.
“Having to host such a successful event has a lot to do with the people involved. To the many sponsors who have been on board for years, a warm thank you, we are forever grateful to them”, expressed Mr. Ramchandani.
The pageant is still open to contestants who wish to participate. The auditions will take place soon as announced.
Jamaica and the globe anticipate the crowning of the next Miss Global Queen.
