Olympic 400m champion Shaunae Miller-Uibo blazed across the line in 22.03 seconds run with a trailing wind of 1.5m/s at the Pure Athletics Spring Invitational in Clermont Florida on Sunday, April 4, 2021.

The Bahamian sprint queen time was her fastest-ever wind-legal outdoor opener eclipsed the previous best in the world this year of 22.17 set in Texas by Gabrielle Thomas, done a week ago.

Americans Quanera Hayes ran 22.68 and Lynna Irby 22.75 for the minor places. Jamaican Natalliah Whyte, representing Puma MVP International, finished fourth in 23.28.

In the men’s 200m, American Erriyon Knighton was the overall winner in 20.31 (+1.7m/s wind). Noah Lyles’ brother Josephus was the heat one winner in 20.37 (+1.6m/s).

Trinidad and Tobago’s Jereem Richards won heat two easily in 20.37. The wind reading here was +2.1m/s.
