Hanover, Jamaica ( Mckoy’s News) – Merlene Ottey School Student Stabbed – reports are still sketchy, however our news room have learnt that a grade 10 student of the Merlene Ottey High School in Hanover, is battling for his life in the hospital, after he was stabbed by another student of the school in Monday, May 9.

A 15-year-old male student was allegedly stabbed by a grade 11 male student. Mckoy’s News understand that an altercation developed at the Merlene Ottey High School between students on Monday, at which time the victim was attacked and stabbed to the abdomen.

The grade 11 student allegedly pulled a knife and used it to stab the grade 10 student.

The student is admitted in the intensive care unit at the Cornwall Regional Hospital, in critical condition.

The school, built in 1988, was formerly called Cascade Secondary Vocational School, but was renamed in honour of Ottey in October 1993.

The Sandy Bay police are investigating the cause of the stabbing and have launched a search for the alleged attacker, who fled after stabbing his school mate.
