Jamaica News, Hanover: A 23-year-old man who is said to be mentally challenged, is suspected to have committed suicide by hanging himself on the beach property at Watson Taylor Park in Lucea, Hanover on Tuesday morning, October 2.
The deceased has been identified as Matthew Taylor, who hailed from March Town in Green Island, Hanover.
Reports by the Lucea police are that about 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Taylor who suffers from Bipolar disorder, was taken to Lucea to see a doctor by his aunt and a cousin.
After visiting the doctor, the patient was given a prescription and his relatives left him in the doctor’s officers to go and purchase the medication.
Upon their return, Taylor could not be found and inquiries were made which led them to a commotion along the beach property, which is in close proximity to the Noel Holmes Hospital in Lucea.
Taylor was discovered hanging from the branch of a grape tree, by a piece of cord which was tied around his neck.
The police were summoned and upon arrival, Taylor was cut down and transported back to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
