Men Held are Said to be Terrorizing Chinese Business Operators

 Jamaica Crime News, Montego Bay: Chinese Business Operators Robbed – The St. James police have related that the three men who were taken into custody, in connection with a firearm seizure in Hart Street, Montego Bay,  on Wednesday, are believed to be behind a series of robberies carried out on a number of Chinese operated business establishment, within the second city during the holiday season.

The names of the accused are being withheld pending further investigations.

The police say, the men are also believed to be behind the armed robbery of a Chinese wholesale, which occurred during the Christmas weekend along Barracks Road, as well as,  the robbery of another Chinese Supermarket, along upper Barnett Street, during the first few days of January.

All three men will now be placed before a series of identification parades.

Reports by the Barnett Street police are that during the hours of 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday,  the police carried out several operations along sections of Barnett Street.

Several houses located in the Barnett Lane, Hart Street and Barracks Road area were searched and results in the seizure of a Browning 9mm pistol fitted with a magazine containing 14 live 9mm rounds.

The three accused who were at the premises were taken into custody in connection with the seizure.
