Men Charged in Connection with Machine Gun Seizure in Grants Pen

Jamaica Crime News, St Andrew: The Constant Spring police have indicated that the four men who were taken into custody following the seizure of an Intratec Submachine gun, at a section of Grants Pen in St Andrew on Wednesday afternoon of June 13th, have now been slapped with criminal charges.

The police have indicated that the men were recently charged jointly with charges of Illegal Possession of Firearm and Ammunition, but their identities are still being withheld as they may have to face a series of identification parades.

Reports are that shortly after 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, a team of officers attached to the Constant Spring police station carried out an operation at a section of Grants Pen community known as Morgan Lane.

During the operation, they came upon a group of men standing outside a premises over a disassembled firearm which was on the ground.  The men were accosted and the weapon parts were seized.

It was later discovered that the disassembled weapon parts when assembled is an Intratec submachine gun.
