Jamaica Crime News, Hanover: A 15-year-old boy and three other men, who are charged jointly with the murders of a 91-year-old woman and a 15-year-old student in Hanover, were remanded into custody when they appeared in the Lucea Parish Court on Tuesday, October 9.
The accused men, Gavin Cosley, otherwise called “Satan” 23-year-old unemployed of Central or Old Road in Lucea, Howard McIntosh, otherwise called “Zill ” of Malcolm Heights, 24-year-old Nicoy McKenzie, otherwise called “Nick” also of Malcolm Heights and the 15-year-old minor were remanded to reappear in Court on Tuesday, November 6.
The police further stated that they believe the killing of the elderly woman and the male student was an act of reprisal for the murder of Nico Campbell.
The four accused were charged in connection with the murders of Laurell Frame, 91-year-old Pensioner and 15-year-old Jessie Spence, who attended the Hopewell High School in Hanover, and both of Malcolm Heights in Lucea.
Reports by the police are that about 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25, Mrs. Frame was at her home in Malcolm Heights when the 15-year-old, student who was neighbor, came over to visit as he normally does.
The elderly woman was sitting at the inside door, to a room of the board dwelling house, while the teenage boy was sitting underneath an almond tree in the yard. Minutes later, a group of armed men traveling on foot walked into the yard.
The gunmen walked up to Jessie and opened fire hitting him multiple times. They then walked onto the verandah and also shot the elderly woman multiple times to her upper body.
Other family members who were at the house ran for cover and managed to escape. The gunmen then made their escape in the area on foot.
The police were summoned and upon arrival, Mrs. Frame and Jessie were discovered lying in a pool of blood with multiple gunshot wounds. They were transported to the Noel Holmes Hospital in Lucea where they were pronounced dead.
