Jamaica Crime News, Westmoreland: The Westmoreland police have now charged the two men who were held during a massive ganja seizure in the parish on Tuesday night of June 19th.
The police have given the names of the men as Audley Gayle, otherwise called “Grabba man” 44-year-old farmer of New Savannah in New Market, St Elizabeth, and 25-year-old Craig Brown, auto mechanic of the said address.
The men who were held with approximately 1000 pounds of ganja are booked to appear in the Savanna-la-Mar Parish Court on Tuesday, June 26th.
Reports by the police are that shortly after 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, a team of officers were carrying out operations in the Beaston Spring and areas of the parish when they intercepted a white Toyota Hiace minibus with both men on board.
The vehicle was searched and several bags containing compressed ganja were seen on board the vehicle. The ganja was seized and said to weigh approximately 1000 pounds.
Driver Gayle, who was driving the vehicle, and Brown, who was a passenger, were both taken into custody and subsequently charged.
