Men Caught with 1000 Pounds of Ganja in Westmoreland to be Charged

Jamaica Crime News: The Westmoreland Police have reported that the two men, who were held during a massive ganja seizure in the parish on Tuesday night of June 19th, will be slapped with criminal charges by this weekend.

The police also reported that the names of the men who were held with approximately 1000 pounds of ganja have been withheld until they have been officially charged.

Reports by the police are that, shortly after 8:00 pm, on Tuesday a team of officers was carrying out operations in the Beeston Spring and Bluefield’s areas of the parish when they intercepted a Toyota Hiace mini bus with two men on board.

The vehicle was searched and several bags containing compressed ganja were seen on board the vehicle. The ganja was seized and said to weigh approximately 1000 pounds.

The driver and a male passenger were both taken into custody.
