Men Arrested in Connection with Firearm Seizure in Trelawny to be Charged

Jamaica Crime News, Trelawny: The Falmouth Police in the parish of Trelawny, say they are now carrying out a “question and answer” session, with the six men who were taken into custody, in connection with the seizure of an illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition, on Tuesday night.

The police say the accused whose identities have not yet been released will be charged immediately following the “question and answer” session this weekend.

Reports by the Ulster Spring Police are that about 9:30 p.m., a team of officers were carrying out routine patrols along a section of the Ulster Spring main road, when they saw the six men travelling on board a Nissan AD Wagon motor car.

The driver of the vehicle was signalled to stop and he complied.  Following a search of the vehicle, the police discovered a silver and black  Ruger  .45 pistol with a magazine containing three live  .45 rounds.

The men were all placed into custody and taken back to the Ulster Spring Police Station.
