MEN ARRESTED FOR ILLEGAL FIREARM FOUND IN OLD HARBOUR

Five men were taken into custody in connection with the seizure of an illegal firearm, in Old Harbour, St Catherine, on Friday, March 22.

The names of the five accused are being withheld pending further investigations.

Reports by the Old Harbour police are that about 11:00 p.m., a team of officers were on patrol at a section of Settlement Road, in Old Harbour, when they saw the five men travelling on board a motor vehicle.

The driver was signaled to stop, and he complied. During a search of the vehicle, the lawmen seized one 9mm pistol fitted with a magazine containing fourteen live rounds of ammunition.

All five men were taken into custody, and are now waiting to be charged.
