Detectives attached to the Portland police Division have now confirmed that People’s National Party, Member of Parliament for Eastern Portland, Dr. Lynvale Bloomfield, died as a result of multiple stab wounds on Saturday morning, February 2nd.
Dr. Lynvale Bloomfield, who was 59-year-old, and resides at Paisley Gardens in Portland, was discovered dead by a helper on Saturday morning.
Reports by the police are that shortly after 10:00 a.m., a female who is hired as a helper to the sitting Member of Parliament, became suspicious after they did not see him in the morning as she normally does.
It is further stated that the helper noticed that the door to the house was open, so she went to investigate and stumbled upon Dr. Bloomfield’s body, which was lying in a room of the house, in a pool of blood.
The police were summoned, and upon arrival, it was discovered that Dr. Bloomfield had multiple stab wounds all over his body.
The scene was processed, and Dr. Bloomfield body was transported to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Dr. Lynvale Bloomfield was born in the parish of Trelawny, and attended Cornwall College institution in Montego Bay, in the 70es.
He also attended the University of the West Indies where he studied medicine and graduated as a medical doctor.
In the year 2011, he ran on the People’s National Party ticket in Eastern Portland Constituency, where he won the seat and has been the sitting Member of Parliament up to the time of his demise on Saturday.
