Jamaica Entertainment News: Despite reports to the contrary, Meghan Markle and her father are “in a good place” with just over a week to go before he walks her down the aisle at her royal wedding.
People reports that the former “Suits” actress is excited to finally be able to introduce her father, who lives a very private life in Mexico, to her future husband before they share a special moment together at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle on May 19.
Despite a scathing letter written by Meghan’s half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., alleging that their father wasn’t invited to the wedding, Kensington Palace confirmed that Meghan will be walked down the aisle by him as her mother — and his ex-wife — Doria Ragland, looks on.
The positive development comes after an uneven relationship between the two through the years, though sources close to the family maintain that their problems have been nothing out of the ordinary.
“Meghan loves her dad,” an insider told People. “Like any father-daughter relationship, there have been ups and downs over the years. But they are in a good place now.”
The insider also disputes Thomas Jr.’s allegations that Markle abandoned her father emotionally and financially when she entered Hollywood years ago.
Meghan’s mother and father will get to spend time with their daughter’s fiancé Prince Harry’s family ahead of their wedding next week after they arrive in London.
