Mechanic Perish In Road Accident in St James

Latest Jamaica News, St James: An 18-year-old mechanic, who received severe injuries in a motorcycle accident, along a section of the Orange main road in Montego Bay, St James, on Saturday, July 7, succumbed to injuries at hospital.

The teenager has been identified as Leon Gordon, who hailed from Sign Irwin.

Reports by the police are that about 11:00 p.m., on Saturday, Gordon was riding a motorcycle from the directions of Orange towards downtown Montego Bay.

On reaching the vicinity of the NWC Pumping station, he collided with a Toyota Hiace minibus, being driven by a bus operator of a Trelawny address, who was traveling in the opposite directions.

Gordon suffered severe injuries and was rushed to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, where he was treated and admitted in critical condition.

He later succumbed to his injuries at hospital.
