The St Ann Bay police, in St Ann, is now carrying out an investigation surrounding the death of a man, who is believed to have committed suicide by hanging on the compound of the St Ann Bay hospital on Friday, February 1st.

The deceased has been identified as 53-year-old, Lenworth Smith, a mechanic of Claremont district, also in St Ann.

Reports by the police are that about 2:30 p.m., on Friday, a passerby stumbled upon the body and alerted them.

Upon their arrival, Smith was discovered lying underneath a tree on the hospital compound, with an injured mark around his neck.

His belt was also seen tied from one of the branches of the tree.
