The St Elizabeth police are reporting the seizure of over 828 pounds of compressed ganja, an illegal firearm, and over 100 rounds of illegal ammunition, during three operations carried out across the parish between Monday, March 7, to Tuesday, March 8.
Reports are that about 4:00 am, an operation was carried out at Parottee Beach, where a twin-engine boat was seized.
A search of the vessel led to the seizure of the drugs which were in 17 knitted bags. Seven barrels of gasoline and the ganja which has an estimated Street value of over $3.3-million, were also seized.
The lawmen then carried out an operation at a premises in Burnt Savannah district, where a house was searched and one 9mm pistol seized.
Also on Monday, an operation was carried out about 10:00 am, along Central Road in Black River, where another premises was searched and one hundred and nine, .22 cartridges were seized.
