Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: Four persons, which includes two men and two women, were taken into custody in connection with a massive firearm and ammunition seizure at a Wharf in Kingston on Wednesday, October 3.
The names of the four accused are being withheld pending further investigations.
Reports by the Kingston police are that on Wednesday, a joint operation was carried out at a Wharf in Kingston by detectives attached to the Counter-Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Branch ( C-TOC ), the Narcotics Division and Contraband Enforcement Team of Jamaica.
During the operation, a search was carried out of several containers and barrels, which led to the seizure of a submachine gun, nine 9mm pistols, 440 assorted rounds of ammunition and a silencer.
Investigators say the weapons and the ammunition were sent from a location in the USA to a destination in Jamaica.
