St. James, Jamaica (McKoy’s News)- MANHUNT LAUNCHED FOR MAN WHO SHOT ELDERLY WOMAN IN ST. JAMESThe St. James police have now launched a manhunt for a man who they say is behind the shooting of a 59 years old female Janitor at Church Lane in Norwood on Saturday night.
Reports by the Montego Hills police are that about 7:30 pm on Saturday the elderly woman came home from work and went inside her house. She came back outside to retrieve a bag and heard a noise in a cluster of bush.
Two men armed with handguns alighted from a bush in the yard, the men open fire hitting her to the upper body.
The wounded woman raised an alarm and other residents in the area came to her aid. The gunmen then escaped in the area on foot while the police were alerted and upon arrival the victim was transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where she was admitted in critical condition.
