Manchester, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Investigators assigned to the Jamaica Constabulary Force Counter Terrorism and Major Organized Crime investigation Branch, say they have now laid criminal charges against a Manchester woman in connection with an overseas employment Agency Scam, which occurred in the parish during the course of December 2017 to February 2018.
Charged with three counts of obtaining Money by False Pretence and Conspiracy to Defraud, is 38-year-old Keisha Forbes of Jobe Lane in Christiana, Manchester.
It is reported that on December 2017, Forbes reportedly collected cash estimated at over $225,000 from three persons, to provide them with work overseas.
All three complainants were scheduled to leave the island in February 2018 to work in the United States, however, on the day in question, no departure transactions were done for them.
The matter was reported to the Mandeville police and the female taken into custody.
One police source told our news team that, it’s alleged the female allegedly took cash from over 100 job seekers, but, only three persons have come forward and filed an official complaint.
The police stated that if other persons come forward, the accused could find herself been slapped with additional fraud charges.
She is booked to appear in the Mandeville Parish Court on Wednesday, March 21.
