Jamaica News, April 16, 2018 – Manchester Police Call Jewelry Scam Victims                                   

Manchester, Jamaica (McKoy’s New) – The Manchester police say they are now calling on  residents of the parish who have been victims of the recent jewelry scam, to come forward and contact the nearest police.

Investigators in the parish pointed out that, they have now taken two Colombian males and two females from the parish into custody, in connection with the Jewelry scam. They also noted that all four accused has been slapped with criminal charges by the Major Organized Crime Unit.

Reports are that during the course of Friday, April 6, the lawmen received information that four persons fitting the description of the four accused who were being sought in connection with the jewelry scam, were spotted in the area.

The lawmen responded swiftly and traveled to the location where they managed to apprehend all four accused.

The police say the two male Colombians and two female accused are said to have drove around several household in Manchester and offer to exchange furniture for pieces of jewelry.

The accused reportedly would then ask to test the jewelry and then would in turn find a way to switch them.
