Jamaica Crime News: Manchester Farmer Caught with Illegal Gun – A Manchester farmer was arrested and charged in connection with the seizure of an illegal firearm, and several rounds of ammunition along the Royal Flat main road in the parish, on Thursday, May 16.
The accused has been identified as Michael Hurst, farmer of Melrose district, in Mandeville, Manchester.
Reports by the Mandeville police are that about 4:00 p.m., on Thursday, a team of officers attached to the Mandeville police, were carrying out vehicular spot checks along a section of the Royal Flat main road, when they signaled the driver of a motor car to stop.
The driver complied, and during a search of the vehicle, the lawmen seized a .22 pistol, with a magazine containing four .22 rounds, from Hurst.
Hurst was taken into custody and subsequently charged. He is booked to appear in the Manchester Parish Court on Wednesday, May 22.
