Manchester Chef Sentenced on Cocaine Charges

Jamaica Crime News, Manchester: Manchester Chef SentencedA 34-year-old Manchester chef, who was held with over 2-kg of cocaine at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston, on Sunday, March 31, was sentenced when he appeared before the Kingston and St. Andrew parish Court on Monday, April 8.

The accused who has been identified as Damain O’Brian, of Williamsfield in Manchester.

Reports by the Narcotics police are that on Sunday, March 31, O’Brian arrived in the island at the Norman Manley International Airport, on a flight from Trinidad.

On reaching the security checkpoint, his luggage and his person were searched, and the cocaine found.

He was arrested, and subsequently charged with illegal possession of cocaine, and attempting to import cocaine.

He pleaded guilty to all charges and was sentenced to pay $200,000 on each count or serve 9 months in prison on each count.
