Jamaica Crime News, St James: Nicole Hodges, the security company manager accused of stealing over $500,000 from the company is to face a plea and case management hearing on September 19.
Hodges received her new court date following a brief appearance before presiding judge Sandria Wong-Small at the St. James Parish Court on Wednesday morning, June 26. Her bail was extended to that date..
Hodges, who was employed to a security company as a manager, was responsible for collecting payments from the clients for services and drafting receipts in the company’s receipt book.
Sometime in September 2017, the owner noticed that there was a shortfall in payments from a client – LX Best Mart – and spoke to Hodges about it. She indicated to the owner that the client was holding on to the money because of an incident involving one of the security officers.
She was asked to submit a report, and when that was not forthcoming, the security company owner went to LX Best Mart and spoke with the owner of that company, who informed him that he had paid over the money to Hodges up to the end of October 2017.
Copies of the invoices were examined and cross-referenced with the receipt book and it came to light that nine payments from LX Best Mart were not handed over by Hodges, totaling $584,000.84.
