Latest Jamaica News, Manchester (McKoy’s News): The Mandeville police in Manchester has confirmed that a man who broke into a house at Knowles district at dawn, on Wednesday morning, February 5, and murdered his ex-girlfriend, and her female friend while they lay asleep in bed, has been taken into custody.
The investigators have still not released the identity of the accused, but they have indicated that the man was held trying to flee the parish, during a roadblock along Williamsfield community shortly after allegedly committing the double murder.
Reports by the police are that shortly after 1:30 a.m., the accused who hails from New Greens district in the parish traveled to Knowles community and gained access to the house, which was occupied by 29-year-old Shanika Dixon, a hairdresser and 35-year-old Llara Mullings a bartender of Lincoln Road, Mandeville.
The accused man reportedly brandished a handgun and opened fire killing one woman with whom he had just broken off a relationship, and then turned the weapon on the other woman before fleeing the scene.
Residents summoned the police and upon arrival, both females were discovered with multiple gunshot wounds to their bodies.
The scene was processed and the bodies removed to the morgue.
The lawmen staged a dragnet along a section of the roadway where the accused man was held.
