Man Taken into Custody Following Firearm Seizure in St Elizabeth
Jamaica Crime News, St Elizabeth: One man is now in police custody following the seizure of an illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition in the parish of St Elizabeth on Tuesday morning, May 29, 2018.
The police have indicated that they are unable to release the identity of the accused at this time.
Police reports are that, between the hours of 4:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, a team of officers carried out a raid at a premises located at a section of Pedro Plain in the parish known as Calabash Bay.
During the operation, a house and a motor vehicle said to be owned and occupied by the accused was searched. Throughout the search, one Black and Silver Neroin 5380 caliber pistol loaded with a magazine containing Six live .380 rounds was discovered in the front passenger door of the vehicle.
The accused was taken into custody and is now waiting to be charged.
