St James, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Man Steals Trowell From Construction Site: A man accused of stealing two pairs of trowel from a construction site is slated to be sentenced in August.

David Collins, 33, of Spanish Town, St. Catherine pleaded guilty with explanation to simple larceny on Wednesday in the St. James Parish Court.

Man Steals Trowell: Collins, who reportedly works on a construction site operated by Tara Estate Limited, has been accused of removing two pairs of trowel from the site without the consent of the owner. The trowels reportedly value $4,500.

When given the opportunity to speak, Collins explained that on the day in question, he received a telephone call that his daughter was ill and that someone who works on the site, told him to take the trowels and get a buyer to help his daughter’s situation.

However, judge Wong-Small pointed out to Collins that the tools did not belong to him and that he was stealing from the company.

The judge subsequently made an order for a social enquiry report and remanded Collins to custody until August 25 when he will be sentenced.
