Jamaica Crime News, St James: A St James man accused of boxing his aunt after accusing her of carrying news to his girlfriend will be sentenced on June 2.
Thirty-year-old Arthur Drummond made a brief appearance before the St. James Parish Court on Friday to respond to a charge of assault occasioning bodily harm.
Drummond was supposed to be sentenced on Friday but the judge who was to preside over his case was not available.
During the court sitting on Friday, presiding judge Kaysha Grant postponed the proceedings until July 2 and Drummond’s bail was extended.
The allegations against Drummond are that on April 16 this year, the woman was visiting her niece when Drummond showed up at the premises and started an argument with her. During the fracas, Drummond allegedly boxed his aunt in her face and accused her of carrying news to his girlfriend.
The matter was reported to the police and he was subsequently arrested and charged.
