Jamaica Crime News, St Catherine: One man was shot and killed, while another was shot and injured, after they were ambushed by armed men along a section of Smith Lane, in Bridgeport, St. Catherine on Wednesday evening, November 21.
Dead is 27-year-old Rolando Williams, otherwise called ‘Papa’, laborer of Greater Portmore, also in St Catherine.
The identity of the wounded victim is being withheld by the police.
Reports by the Bridgeport police are that about 1:40 p.m. on Wednesday, Williams and the other victim, were among a group of persons standing along Smith Lane.
They were approached by a group of men, who brandished handguns and opened fire hitting Williams and the other man.
Both victims ran and Williams collapsed on a neighboring street.
The police were summoned and upon arrival, both wounded men were transported to hospital, where Williams was pronounced dead, and the other man admitted in serious condition.
