Jamaica News, April, 5, 2018 – Man Shot and Injured in August Town Gang Feud
St Andrew, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Our news team has learnt that, one man was shot and seriously wounded during a heated exchange of gunfire between alleged gang members in August Town, St Andrew on Wednesday afternoon, April 4.
Reports are that on Wednesday morning, several heavily armed gang members got involved in a heated gun battle. Hours after, a heavy contingency of joint military were posted in the area and following a search, the victim who is a popular figure was discovered suffering from gunshot wounds.
It is also reported that , prior to the exchange of gunfire the JUTC withdrew its services from the area, but the drivers all returned to work on Thursday morning after the military managed to restore calm to the area.
The police also stated that, the wounded man has been admitted to hospital in serious condition, and also that they will be maintaining security presence in the area in a bid to flush out these armed gunmen.
Several men, some of whom are known violent producers, were taken into custody for questioning in connection with the flare up.
