Man Shot and Killed, Woman Almost Burnt to Death in Lilliput, St James

Latest Jamaica News, St James (McKoy’s News): One man was shot and killed by gunmen and a female almost burnt to death, after a group of gunmen invaded their home in Barrett Hall, St James, on Saturday morning, November 9.

The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old David Grinnard, labourer also of Barrett Hall Community in Lilliput.

Reports by the Barrett Town Police are that on Saturday morning, Grinnard and the female were at his home, when men armed with guns ordered them to open the door.

Before they could respond, one of the gunmen kicked open a rear door to the house and opened fire hitting Grinnard multiple times to his upper body.

The men then held the female at gunpoint and set fire to the house, leaving her to be burnt alive.

The woman managed to run from the building after getting several burns to her body, and summoned the police and the fire department.

Upon the arrival of the firemen, the house was seen consumed by fire, and they could only carry out cooling down operations.

A search of the burnt rubble led the discovery of Grinnard’s charred remains.
