Man Shot and Killed in Granville, St. James

Jamaica Crime News, St. James: A man was shot and killed by unknown assailants in the Granville community of St James on Tuesday morning,  August 28.

He has been identified as John Patrick James,  otherwise called “Gaynor Blacks” 31-year-old unemployed of Church Lane,  also in Granville.

The police have reported that James has been in and out of hot water with the local authorities and he was recently released from prison,  where he had been serving a prison sentence on gun-related charges.

James was last seen alive at about 12:00 midnight after he went to purchase cigarette at a nearby house-shop.

Residents in the community reported hearing a barrage of gunshots being fired, in the surrounding, between the hours of 2:00 am, and 6:00 am.

The police rushed to the location and while conducting a search,  they stumbled upon Jame’s body, which was lying in a yard,  with multiple gunshot wounds.

James was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
