A 54-year-old, man who attacked a fisherman with a machete at his home, in Frome Westmoreland, was shot and killed by the fishermen with the use of a fishgun.
The deceased has been identified as Anckle Beckford, otherwise called “Bolo”, laborer of Frome District.
Reports by the Frome police are that about 12:10 p.m., on Friday, Beckford went to the home of the fisherman, and engaged him in an argument.
During the dispute, Beckford attacked the fisherman with a machete, and in a bid to save his own life, he reached for his fishgun and fired, hitting Beckford to his upper body.
The police were summoned, and upon arrival, Beckford was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The accused man has since been taken into custody for questioning.
