Man Shot and Injured while Returning from Wake Yard, in Hanover

Jamaica Crime News, Hanover: The Sandy Bay police have now commenced an investigation surrounding the shooting and wounding of an elderly mason, while he was returning from a wake yard, in Woodland district, in Hanover, on Saturday morning, June 22.

The name of the victim who is also from Woodland district, is being withheld, pending further investigations.

Reports by the police are that about 3:00 a.m., the victim was returning from a wake yard which was being held in his community, when he was pounced upon by armed men, who shot him multiple times.

Residents in the community, assisted the wounded man, by transporting him to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, where he was treated and admitted, in serious condition.
