Man Shot and Injured in the Vicinity of the Cambridge Police Station, in St James

Latest Jamaica News, St James: A 42-year-old construction worker was shot and injured by gunmen, while returning from a night club in Cambridge, St James, on Wednesday morning, August 7.

The police have not released the identity of the victim, who they say has been admitted to hospital in stable condition.

Reports by the Cambridge police are that about 12:40 a.m. on Wednesday, the male was returning from a night club which is located at Duckett Road, in Cambridge.

On reaching the entrance to the Cambridge police station, he came upon a group of men standing outside a plaza. While in the process of passing the men, one of them started to mock him and immediately pulled a firearm and shot him.

He ran to avoid being shot to death and was assisted to the Cornwall Regional Hospital by residents in the area, where he was treated and admitted.

The police rushed to the scene and carried out a search for the gunmen, which proved futile.
