Jamaica Crime News, Trelawny: One man was shot and injured by a lone gunman in the community of Freeman’s Hall, Trelawny on Thursday night, of August 2.

The name of the victim who is presently at hospital in serious but stable condition is being withheld pending further investigations.

Reports by the Ulser Spring Police are that shortly after 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, the victim was at an establishment in Freeman’s Hall when he was attacked and shot by a man armed with a handgun.

The gunman then made his escape in the area on foot.

The Jamaica music fraternity was plunged into mourning after the passing of “Carrot” formerly of world renowned group Third World.

Residents in the area summoned the police and upon arrival, the victim who was shot to the regions of his face was transported to hospital where he was treated and admitted.

Detectives attached to the Falmouth Police Station are presently carrying out an investigation surrounding this latest shooting.
