Latest Jamaica News, Kingston: The man who pleaded guilty for the murder of 14-year-old Jamaica College student, Nicholas Francis, was sentenced to life in prison when he appeared before the Home Circuit Court in Kingston, on Friday.

The accused Quincy Hart, was sentenced by High Court Judge by Lorna Williams to serve 31 years before he is eligible for parole.

Reports are that in October 2016, Francis was on his way home on a bus in Kingston, when he was held up by Hart.

Hart who was armed with a knife demanded the student’s watch, and when he refused he stabbed him multiple times to death.

The accused was told by the judge that an offense such as this deserves forty years in prison, but she was being lenient, based on the fact that he pleaded guilty, and already spent three years behind bars.
