Man Sentenced to Life for Quadruple Murder in Linstead

Jamaica Crime News, St Catherine: A 37-year-old vendor of Gillette Street, Linstead in St Catherine was sentenced last Friday, July 27,  in the Home Circuit Court to life imprisonment for the murders of four persons in Mickleton District in the parish on August 20, 2014.

He has been identified as, Simeon Miller and he was sentenced to life imprisonment on each count of the four murders.

The accused will be eligible for parole not before  35 years.

Reports by the Linstead police are that on the above-mentioned date, Miller and a group of men armed themselves with guns and went to a premises in Venecia Road, where they shot and killed Sharna-Kay Simpson and Garfield Simpson.

The Jamaica music fraternity was plunged into mourning after the passing of “Carrot” formerly of world renowned group Third World.

The gunmen then went to another section of the community where they held up and robbed a number of residents.

While carrying out their hideous acts, 35-year-old Ricodell Jackson and 43-year-old Dean Pratt we’re driving through the area in a motor car when the gunmen also opened fire killing them both.
