St. James resident Alroy Davis remains in police custody even though he was granted bail by a St. James Parish Judge who subsequently reduced the bond.
Davis appeared before the St. James Parish Court on Friday for allegedly assaulting a firearm holder with the intent to rob the man.
It is alleged that on October 11, 2018, he attacked the man with a knife before making certain demands.
A tussle ensued and the firearm holder reportedly pulled his firearm and shot Davis in one of his arms.
Davis had previously been offered bail in the sum of $150,000, which was subsequently reduced to $100,000 following an application by his attorney Suwayne Phillips.
But when the matter appeared before presiding judge Sandria Wong-Small on Thursday, Phillips indicated to her that her client could not find anyone to bail him. But Wong-Small was not inclined to grant him bail in his own surety.
The judge at that point ordered him remanded and set the matter for further mention on May 14.
