Jamaica News, St James: A 57-year-old, man lost his life in a fire which completely destroyed his board dwelling house in Anchovy, St James, on Monday night, January 13.
The deceased has been identified as Balferd Boyde, laborer of Wiltshire.
Reports are that shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Monday, residents living at a section of Anchovy known as Wiltshire, saw fire coming from a section of the house which was occupied by Mr. Boyde and other family members, and raised an alarm.
The St. James Fire Department was summoned and upon arrival of the firemen, they could only manage to carry out cooling down operations as the house was already engulfed into flames.
After the fire died down, a search of the rubble resulted in the discovery of Boyd’s charred remains.
The police were summoned and upon their arrival, the scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue.
The origin of the fire is not yet known.
