Latest Jamaica News, St James: The case against a St. James man who tried to leave the island on a fraudulent passport has been delayed because his lawyer was not present in court.
Thirty-eight-year-old autobody repairman Knutsford Anderson of Hayes District, Clarendon, made a brief appearance in the St. James Parish Court on Tuesday, Jul9 9 to face charges of making a false declaration and uttering a forged document.
Due to the absence of Anderson’s attorney, presiding judge Sandria Wong-Small adjourned the matter until October 2 before extending the accused man’s bail.
Anderson was arrested at the Sangster International Airport on February 19 this year while he was preparing to board an Air Canada flight to Montreal.
He presented a British passport in the name Robert Edgar Pierce which aroused the agent’s suspicions. Checks later revealed that it was fraudulent.
