Latest Jamaica News, Westmoreland (McKoy’s News): One man was taken into custody by the Westmoreland police in connection with the seizure of an illegal firearm, and several rounds of ammunition on Saturday, August 31.

The identity of the accused is being withheld pending further investigations.

Reports by the police are that about 9:40 p.m., a team of officers were on patrol in sections of Brighton, in Westmoreland, called Little Bay.

While in the area the police saw the accused and carried out a search of his person and the surroundings.

The lawmen seized a Taurus .38 revolver, fitted with a magazine containing six live 9mm rounds.

The accused was immediately taken into custody.
