Man Held with Illegal Firearm in August Town

Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: One man was taken into custody, in connection with the seizure of an illegal firearm, which was seized at a premises along River View Avenue, in August Town, Kingston 7, on Wednesday, January 23.

The investigators say the identity of the accused is being withheld pending an identification parade.

Reports by the August Town police are that about 5:25 a.m. on Wednesday, a team of officers carried out an operation at several premises in the River View Avenue area.

During the operation, a premises occupied by the accused was searched, and the police discovered a Browning 9-mm semi-automatic pistol, fitted with a magazine containing fourteen live 9-mm rounds.
