Man Held with Illegal Firearm at Night Club in Westmoreland

Jamaica Crime News, Westmoreland: The Westmoreland Police have arrested and charged one man, in connection with the seizure of an illegal firearm, at a night club in the parish on Sunday morning, March 24.

Facing charges of Illegal possession of firearm and ammunition is Sean Suckra, a 42-year-old, laborer of Kings Valley in Grange Hill, Westmoreland.

Reports by the police are that about 5:00 a.m., a team of officers carried out an operation at a night club in Georges Plain, Westmoreland.

During the operation, Suckra and other patrons were searched and he was found in possession of a  .40 Desert Eagle pistol, which was fitted with a magazine containing three live rounds of ammunition.

He was taken into custody and subsequently charged. Suckra is booked to appear in the Western Regional Gun Court at a later date.
