Jamaica Crime News, St Andrew: A St Andrew man was taken into custody on Wednesday, September 19, in connection with the seizure of a large quantity of ganja and cocaine, during an operation carried out on Kensington Crescent, St Andrew.
The name of the accused is being withheld pending further investigations.
Reports by the police are that about 5:00 p.m., a team of detectives attached to the Narcotics Division, carried out an operation at a premises located on Kensington Crescent.
During the operation, the premises was searched and ganja weighing approximately 196 pounds, with an estimated street value of Jamaican $776,000 was seized.
Further search led to another discovery of one Kilogram of cocaine, with an estimated street value of Jamaican $1.1million.
The accused who was at the premises was taken into custody.
