Jamaica Crime News, Manchester: The police in the parish of Manchester have now launched a manhunt for a man, who they say is believed to be mentally challenged, and who reportedly used a machete to sever the head of one man and chop another almost to death in Warwick District in the parish, during the course of Friday night into Saturday morning.
The alleged mentally challenged man who is now on the run, have been identified as Howard Monroe also of Warwick District.
The deceased has been identified as Ainsworth Porter, 30-year-old unemployed of the said address. A 37-year-old Auto Body man who was also chopped and seriously wounded by the alleged mad man is presently still at hospital in critical condition.
The Cross Street police have reported that, between the hours of 11:00 p.m. on Friday night to 7:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, Munroe reportedly attacked Porter chopping him several times and severed his head from his body. The other 37-year-old man and other men in the community attempted to reprimand the accused who chopped him several times with a machete before escaping in bushes.
The police were summoned and upon arrival Porter’s body was pronounced dead and the other man admitted to hospital.
