St James, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Man Granted Bail After Cracking Another Man’s Skull: A man who allegedly cracked another man’s skull, was granted bail in the sum of $250,000 when he appeared in the St. James Parish Court on Wednesday.
Daniel Mowatt, 47, of Jericho, Hanover, was arrested and charged with wounding with intent after allegedly stabbing the man in his head.
The date of the incident was not disclosed but the court heard that both men were engaged in a dispute at the Charles Gordon Market during which Mowatt used a knife to inflict wounds to the complainant’s head causing his skull to crack.
During Wednesday’s proceedings, Mowatt’s lawyer, Albert Morgan said his client has denied the allegations saying he came under attack by way of stones that were flung by the complainant.
Man Granted Bail: Morgan was able to secure a bond in the amount of $250,000 with two sureties. Reporting conditions were also attached to his bail and he was warned not to be seen in the vicinity of the Charles Gordon Market.
The matter is set for mention again on August 31.
