Man Fatally Shot and Illegal Firearm Seized in Clarendon   

Jamaica Crime News, Clarendon: One man was shot and killed and an illegal firearm seized, after he reportedly challenged members of a police party in a shootout in the parish of Clarendon on Saturday night, April 28.

Investigators have not yet released a name for the slain alleged gunman.

Reports by the Lionel Town Police are that about 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, a team of officers was on Patrol at a section of Main Street when they saw the deceased acting in a suspicious manner.

He was approached by the lawmen at what time he brandished an illegal firearm and opened fire at them.

The fire was returned and the alleged gunman was shot and killed.

One illegal handgun loaded with several rounds was taken from the deceased.
