Jamaica Crime News, Clarendon: A man who reportedly attacked members of a police patrol with a machete on Tuesday, October 16, was fatally shot after he inflicted a wound to one of the officers.
The accused deceased has been identified as Calvin Eubanks, 30-year-old unemployed of Rockford in Clarendon.
In the meanwhile, our news team has learned that the injured Police Sergeant was transported to a hospital, where he was treated.
Reports by the police are that about 11:20 a.m. on Tuesday, the police responded to a call in the area.
On reaching Rockford District, Eubanks who was seen with a machete attacked one of the police officers and chopped him.
The other officers, seeing that their colleague’s life was in danger, opened fire hitting the accused man.
Eubanks and the officer were both transported to the hospital, where the policeman was treated and Eubanks pronounced dead.
