Jamaica Crime News, Portland: A man who was recently charged with the murder of an ex-police in the parish of Portland on Friday morning, April 6, was granted bail when he appeared in the Portland Parish Court on Friday, May 4, 2018.
The accused man, Ajardo Lawrence, otherwise called “Cutty or Gaza” 31-year-old unemployed of Spring Park Road, is facing the Court for the murder of Homer Davis, otherwise called “Silver Fox” 60-year-old retired Corporal of Passley Gardens also in Portland.
Lawrence who had no legal representation was ordered to return to court on Friday, April 24.
He then made his third appearance on Friday morning and was granted bail in the sum of $300,000 and is booked to return to court on July 6th.
Reports by the police are that shortly after 12:10 a.m. on the day of the incident, Davis was reportedly sitting in his motor car outside a bar along Farm Road while having a conversation with a female friend.
Lawrence who is the ex-boyfriend to the female reportedly came to the area and told her that he wanted to speak to her.
She then got out of the vehicle and walked back inside the bar and an argument developed between the accused and her.
The ex-policeman went inside the bar and intervened in a bid to quell the dispute.
Lawrence reportedly brandished a knife which he used to stab Davis several times to his upper body.
He then fled the scene but was later held and charged.
