The police say Grant will be taken to court early next week.

The Jamaica music fraternity was plunged into mourning after the passing of “Carrot” formerly of world renowned group Third World.

Reports by the Falmouth police are that about 1:25 a.m. on Sunday, Raheem was among a group of persons at a wake yard being held at a section of his community.

Allen was standing outside a shop when he got involved in an argument with Grant and a group of men.

It is reported that Grant brandished a knife which he used to stab Allen to the regions of his upper body.  The wounded student ran and collapsed a short distance away.

The police were summoned and upon arrival, the wounded student was rushed to the Falmouth hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Following the incident, Grant was chased by angry residents, in fear of his life he ran straight to the police station and turned himself over.

He was arrested and subsequently charged.
